Anderson County Catch Team Members responded to a residence of 103 Law Street Pelzer after receiving a complaint  that methamphetamine was being manufactured.

McGregor only candidate to file for Pelzer mayor

Books were open for filing through March 5 and only one candidate had filed petitions to be on the ballot for the Town of Pelzer mayor election. That is current mayor pro tem Steve McGregor. According to Town Administrator Skip Watkins, no other person filed as an opposing candidate.

JROTC Cadets help with cemetery cleanup

Cadets from the Palmetto High JROTC unit joined members of the Pelzer Heritage Commission to help clean up Pelzer’s historic cemetery Saturday. The cadets helped rake leaves, pick up limbs and with general cleanup of the old Wilson cemetery located in the Pelzer Monkey Park.

A special election for the office of mayor of the Town of Pelzer will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Citizens interested in running as a candidate for mayor should file at Pelzer Town Hall, 103 Courtney Street in Pelzer. Books will open for filing at noon, February 24 and remain open during regular business hours until noon, March 5.

Pelzer prepares for water, sewer rate increases; plans to keep pool

The Pelzer Town Council met Friday, and dealt with several circumstances created by the sudden resignation of Mayor Kenneth Davis, as well as the death that morning of Ricki Riddle, election commission member and wife of Councilman Tony Riddle. The Council, working with a bare quorum of three members, due to the absence of Councilman Riddle, reelected Steve McGregor as mayor pro tem, and proceeded with the other business before them.

Palmetto Area Economic Development Committee to meet with state officials

A special meeting of local officials working on economic development in the Williamston, Pelzer and West Pelzer area will be held Friday, Feb. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Anderson School District One office in Williamston. Representatives of the Department of Commerce, Anderson County and others are expected to attend.

Special election to fill empty seat after Pelzer Mayor Ken Davis resigns

The Town of Pelzer will hold a special election on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 to fill the seat for mayor left open by the resignation of Kenneth Davis last week. Davis abruptly resigned his position, effective at nine o’clock the morning of Feb. 8.
