A Piercetown firefighter and state trooper walk past one of two vehicles involved in an accident early Monday morning on I-85. According to officials, a tractor trailer changed lanes and slammed into the rear of a sport utility vehicle near Highway 81.
A mother of two young children died from injuries received when the 2009 Honda she was driving struck an Astro van head-on on Crestview Road near Midway Presbyterian Church on Saturday around 4:30 p.m. Medshore Ambulance Service and Hopewell firefighters had to cut the car apart in order to extricate the driver of the car, Eileen Petters, 31, of Belton. Petters was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital where she died early Sunday morning from her injuries.
