Authorities looking for Chemical trailer stolen from Jockey Lot

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a 53 foot enclosed trailer containing caustic chemicals from the Anderson Jockey Lot at 4530 Highway 29 North, Belton.

According to officials, the substances inside the trailer were used for cleaning. The chemical that poses the most concern is approximately 1000 pounds of Sodium Hydroxide, sometimes called lye, and is commonly used as a drain cleaning agent. The compound was stored in 2.5 gallon unlabeled jugs.

EASLEY

April 13 – R.M. Cooper responded to 541 Old Pendleton Rd. where a representative of McCall Residential Management reported the theft of the heat pump from that location. The loss was estimated at $2500.

Williamston Police Report

Williamston Police officers investigated the following incidents:

April 16 – Stanley K. Partain, 50, 25 Williams St., Williamston reported a broken window. Damage was estimated at $150. Sgt. D. W. Bryant, L. E. Mulz investigated.

Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the following incidents:

EASLEY

April 7 – J.K. Billingsley responded to 333 Henderson Rd. where roommates Kiley Robinson, WM, 36, 5’7″, 220 pounds and Michael Anderson, WM, 34, 6’4″, 210 pounds, both claimed the other assaulted them following an argument. Neither would press charges but each wanted the incident documented.

Piedmont man arrested for meth lab

Two Greenville County Sheriff’s Deputies were patrolling on foot at the Economy Inn located at 3905 Augusta Road when they heard a “hissing” noise coming from behind a retaining wall located on the property. Upon investigation, the deputies found Alan Scott Sprouse, 43, of Piedmont, holding a liter bottle containing a bubbling liquid consistent with that of a methamphetamine laboratory.

Williamston Police Report

Williamston Police Officers investigated the following:

Mar. 30 – Brandie Marie Toothman, 30, 835 Joe Black Rd. Williamston was arrested for operating an uninsured vehicle, driving under suspension and failure to register a vehicle after officers observed a Nissan car on Mill St. D. M. Stipe investigated.

Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the following incidents:

PELZER

March 31 – J.L. Martin responded to The Blue Jean Place on Highway 20 in Pelzer, where owner Henry Kelly stated that someone had climbed on top of the building and stolen approximately 150 feet of copper cable running to the air conditioning unit. The loss was estimated at $400. Martin also investigated an identical complaint from Jonathan Hodges, of the Pelzer Church of God at 205 Highway 20. Again, 150 feet of copper cable was stolen. The loss was estimated at $200.

Deputies investigate three murders in one weekend

Anderson County Sheriff’s deputies and investigators are investigating three separate murders that occurred over the weekend.

On Friday, March 30, 76 year old Claude Schaffer Scott was found in the doorway of his residence at 328 Echo Circle in Anderson. A next door neighbor called the ACSO and also reported that the suspect, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, BM, 47 years old, had left in Scott’s vehicle.

March 24 – J.N. Perkins responded to 1114 Wren Crossing Lane where Joey Allen reported the theft of a set of patio furniture from his yard. The loss was estimated at $450.

Williamston Police, S.W.A.T team make drug arrests

Three individuals were arrested Friday and are facing drug charges after the Williamston Police Department and Anderson County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team executed simultaneous search warrants at two locations within the town of Williamston, according to Williamston Police Chief Jay Grubbs.
