Fork Shoals is currently accepting Box Tops for Education, Campbell’s soup labels, and old ink cartridges. These collections are exchanged for funds that support various programs at the school. Donation boxes are in the school bell tower.

Freedom Weekend Aloft (FWA) will return to Heritage Park in Simpsonville over Memorial Day weekend.  FWA is recognized for its signature hot air balloons and the four day concert series this year featuring Colbie Caillat (featured photo), Gavin DeGraw, Jake Owen, Eddie Money and more.

Antique Tractor and talent show April 28

The 12th Annual Antique Tractor and Talent Show will be held at Fork Shoals Elementary School this Saturday, April 28th beginning at 7 a.m.

Ruritan Charter Member receives 60 year certificate

ARRC President Terry Creamer (left) recently presented a plaque to Richard Cothran to mark his 60 years of Ruritan service with the Augusta Road Ruritan Club. 60 years of serviceSixty years ago, Augusta Road Ruritan Club (ARRC) members were enlisting members to build a civic club that would serve the needs of the Highway 25 corridor in southern Greenville County. They built a successful Club, but only one charter member remains alive today – O.R. “Richard” Cothran.

Wildcat players present Grease

The Wildcat Players of Woodmont High will present Grease April 19-29. Show times will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Admission will $7 at the door.

Pete’s Family Restaurant moving to new location on Hwy. 25

Pete’s Family Restaurant of West Pelzer will be relocating to a new building at 9196 Augusta Rd. (Hwy. 25) Pelzer.

In addition to their menu classics, the new location will offer new features including separate dining areas for smoking and nonsmoking customers, free WiFi, larger restrooms and handicap accessibility.
