The Anderson County Council voted Tuesday night to give final approval to an incentive package for Duke Sandwich Productions, which plans to invest $5 million in the Powdersville area. The company, which makes a wide variety of sandwich spreads, dips, dressings, and dessert items, will occupy and refurbish the former Rock ten facility at 211 Pine Road. Forty five jobs are expected to be created over the next five years.
Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Gang Task Force Investigators and CATCH (Criminal Apprehension Through Community Help) officers have arrested two individuals for attempting to sell stolen guns in Anderson County and for drug charges.

An air of mystery currently surrounds Atlantic Bullion & Coin, the business owned by former County Councilman Ron Wilson. The Journal received a tip Tuesday afternoon that the business had been closed by a federal authority. As of presstime, that information has not been confirmed. However, a visit to the offices of Atlantic Bullion and Coin, located on Siloam Road in Powdersville on Wednesday resulted in conversations with more than a half dozen investors who had either come to the offices as a result of the rumors, or because they had appointments with the sales staff.
Sen. Kevin Bryant will announce today, (Monday) that he intends to run for re-election. The campaign kickoff will be at the Powdersville Fire Department at 7 pm March 12 and will be followed by a reception.
Powdersville firefighters rescued two occupants from an SUV following a two vehicle accident in Powdersville Thursday night. A car and SUV collided at the intersection of Hwy. 153 and Hwy. 81 causing the SUV to overturn.
Powdersville, SC is a fast growing area located in the tip of Northern Anderson County. Is is close to Easley and Greenville and includes Easley, Greenville and Piedmont addresses. It is not an incorporated area.

POWDERSVILLE – Speaking to a handful of people who attended a town hall meeting Monday night in Powdersville, House District 10 Rep. Joshua Putnam listed and explained several pieces of proposed legislation which he either sponsored, or signed onto as a co-sponsor.
A Powdersville business was destroyed by an early morning fire Tuesday. Foothills Insulation, located on Assembly Drive was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters from Powdersville and Wren arrived minutes after receiving the call.
