Republicans go to polls

South Carolina voters will have the opportunity today to choose their preference for who they want to represent them in the 2012 Presidential challenge to President Barack Obama later this year.

The SC Republican Presidential Preference Primary is being held statewide today Saturday, January 21. Some Anderson County precincts have been combined for the primary. (See story below)

Combined precincts in effect for primary voting

Some voters in Anderson County will not vote at their normal polling places during the January 21st Republican Presidential Primary due to combined precincts. A partial list of normal and combined precincts for The Journal reading area is as follows:

Combined Honea Path Barker’s Creek-McAdams and Chiquola Mill precincts will vote at Honea Path Middle School, 107 Brock Ave, Honea Path.

Voter Registration Deadline was December 21, 2011. Deadline to Return Absentee by Mail Application is January 17, 2012. Deadline to Vote Absentee In-Person: 5 p.m., January 20, 2012. There will some precincts in Anderson County combined. (See list combined precincts)
