Williamston Police Report

The Town of Williamston and Williamston Police Department initiated a codes enforcement push last week which resulted in twenty four incidents of code violations, mostly involving excessive growth of weeds and plants. The town’s ordinance states that growth above 12 inches are in violation and subject to a $1096 fine plus court costs and/or a maximum of thirty days in jail.

Williamston Police Officers investigated several thefts and minor drug related incidents. Among incidents investigated were:

May 27 – Sav-Way, 309 East Main St., reported a gas drive off in which a dark sports car pumped $21.11 of 87 Octane gas and drove off without paying. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Williamston Police Officers investigated several thefts and incidents involving drugs including the following:

May 7 – Williamston officers discovered two bags of marijuana and a set of digital scales on a porch at 403 Greenville Dr. Officers also found a pill bottle at the residence containing 8 generic Xanax pills. The drugs were seized and marked for disposal. Reports state no arrest was made becasue it could not be determined who was in control of the items at the time. Capt. K. Marsee, Chief T. Taylor investigated.

Williamston Police Officers investigated several thefts and drug violations during May including the following incidents:

May 9 – Holly Lane Turner, 32, 9 Ashley Dr., Williamston was arrested for possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop for an equipment violation at Greenville Dr. and Courtney St. Reports state a quantity of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. She was issued a warning for the equipment violation. C. Whitfield, M. E. Simmons investigated.

Week of Apr. 8 – Apr. 27

Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents in April:

Apr. 21 – Terry Michael Chandler, 30, 1379 Allens Bridge Rd., Woodruff, and a another female identified as Tenille Gonzalez, no additional information, was placed on trespass notice for 405 Mahaffy St., after officers were dispatched to the location. Cpl. L. E. Mulz, Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:

Apr. 14 – Leo Conwell, 73, 616 N. Hamilton St., reported vandalism to a vehicle. Reports state the suspect was messing around the vehicle and then left on foot and got into a red pickup truck. On initial investigation Conwell did not see anything wrong with the vehicle. On Apr. 22, Conwell reported he believes the suspect cut his CV joint and removed the front left strut and shock from his 2003 Buick Lesabre causing $500 in damage. A. Eliopoulos investigated.

Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:

Apr. 13 – Jamie Lee McKellar, 32, 16 Mineral Park Ln, Williamston was arrested for four outstanding warrants from Anderson City Police Dept. T. D. Hoover investigated.

Williamston Police Officers investigated a fight incident involving a 17 year old and a 13 year old, and an incident in which a hive of bees located in a resident’s tree. Among incidents investigated were the following;

Apr. 4 – Dale Lamar Stowers, 25, 171 Patterson St., Hartwell, Ga., was arrested for no drivers license, operating and uninsured vehicle and speeding after a white Honda Acura was observed traveling 35 mph in a 25 mph zone on West Main St. R. Drennon, A. Eliopoulos investigated.

Williamston Police Report

During the first two weeks of March, Williamston Police Officers made several drug related arrests and investigated vandalism at Brookdale Park. The following incidents were reported for the period Mar. 4-15.

Mar. 15 – Tim Gentry, Town of Williamston reported vandalism at the new Brookdale Park Restrooms in which a ceramic sink in the male’s restroom was destroyed. An estimate on the cost of the damage was not available. M. E. Simmons investigated.
