The Williamston Police Department and Anderson County Coroners office are investigating the death of a six month old female child, possibly occurring as the result of positional asphyxia.
Three individuals were arrested Friday and are facing drug charges after the Williamston Police Department and Anderson County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team executed simultaneous search warrants at two locations within the town of Williamston, according to Williamston Police Chief Jay Grubbs.

Williamston Police officers were busy over the holiday period. Among incidents investigated were the following:
Jan. 8 – Brittany LeeAnn Jones, 22, 2 Aderwood Ct. Belton was arrested for operating an uninsured vehicle and improper tag display after a vehicle was observed on Minor St. with only one working tail light and no tag light. Sgt. E. T. Hutchins investigated.
Williamston Police officers investigated the following incidents:
Nov. 27 – Marshall Paul Moore, 45, 10 West Gantt Circle, Piedmont was arrested for outstanding bench warrant for criminal domestic violence after Greenville County Sheriff’s Office notified WPD that they had him in custody. K. Lollis, E. T. Hutchins investigated.
The Williamston Police Department has, in recent weeks, conducted an undercover operation to ascertain the potential seriousness of town businesses selling or transferring alcohol to minors.
According to Williamston Police Chief Jay Grubbs, numerous warrants were obtained for individuals at various business locations who were involved in the sale or transfer of alcohol to minors.
